I went around my assessments to get to my elbow

If you have clarity on what you want to do and who you are but you still question and challenge yourself, make sure you are very patient when you do any kind of self-assessment.

I just finished my first-ever Personality and Preference Inventory and it was not what I was expecting. I went into it with an open mind and hoping to find more about myself and where I should be going. At first, all I ended up finding was frustration and a lot of insecurity about whether or not I was doing this thing right.

Something similar happened when I did my Ikigai assessment. It resulted in my purpose being to do what I was doing before but in a setting that is about more than just money; in a place with a mission. And this is exactly what I want to do.

Oddly, and by a slight detour, the two tools together led me to an important realization about myself: I know what I want to do. I know what I like and I know what I don't like. So, I did reach my destination, just not the way I, my coach or even the inventors of these tests intended.
